WAAA partners with ACORN, NCLR, and MFVEF in energizing the immigrant communities to take action.  Colorado is a key state with a rising immigrant population whose issues, and voices need to be heard nationally in order for immigration reform to take flight in this 2008 battleground.

Voter Registration Goals of WAAA Partners:

ACORN: 30,000

NCLR: 5,000

MFVEF: 7,000

Total: 42,000

The Ya Es Hora/Y Ve Vota, one of the key components of the national immigration reform campaign, is strong in Colorado. WAAA’s partners in CO include CCC and NALEO and work is focused in 6 counties. CCC’s program in CO is working on legislative policy regarding comprehensive immigration reform in the state legislature. Even with voter registration potential at 55,850, the biggest challenge the ground program may face is the anti-worker ballot initiative and disproportionate impact it will have on the immigrant community.
