Ceremony commemorates Citizenship Day on September 17th and advocates conduct voter registration. When: Wednesday, September 17th 2008 1:30pm Where: Fenway Park, Gate B Who: Thousands of immigrants who will become new Americans, their families, the Red Sox organization, USCIS, advocates, and immigrant students. What: Commemorating Citizenship Day, the Boston Red Sox hosts USCIS and 3081 men and women who will fulfill their dream of becoming citizens of the United States. They are immigrants from 139 different countries. The top 10 countries of birth and the number of new citizens is the Dominican Republic, 290; China, 234; Haiti, 233; Vietnam, 198; Brazil, 156; Portugal, 144; India, 142; Cape Verde, 107; Cambodia, 103 and El Salvador, 83. Advocates and student activists will conduct voter registration. ### MIRA works to advocate for the rights and opportunities of immigrants and refugees.
